It makes me so proud when I see so many women empowering themselves and others. Taking that leap and believing that they can achieve their goals. I aspire to be one of those women and hopefully I’m starting that journey through this blog by inspiring all of you.
A while ago I was approached by someone I would refer to as an empowered woman. Her name is Luyanda Sithole, she is the CEO of an edgy online clothing boutique called REVOLT CLOTHING. The brand is based in Johannesburg while Luyanda lived in Los Angeles; she explained to me that she has been living there for the last five years but wanted to open a business for the people at home - the people of SA! I was astonished and impressed to say the least, Luyanda might be moving back in the next year and I found myself quite lucky meeting an extraordinary soul like hers.
REVOLT speaks to the kind of woman/girl who likes standing out, being different and isn’t afraid to try something new. It puts unique twists on classic pieces, like the black dress that I chose. Instead of opting for your everyday LBD, REVOLT came out with this A-line faux leather dress. The leather doesn’t stick to your skin so it’s perfect for summer with some gladiator sandals, a sling and a cute hat. During the colder seasons this dress would be perfect to layer - think stockings, turtle necks, shirts, cardigans, scarves and coats.
The way I decided to style it here takes a different perspective. I love heels so heels are always good with faux leather, I threw on the army jacket because it’s still quite chilly and I love the olive/army trend. Instead of opting for the predictable gold jewellery I brought some bohemian elements through my rings and bracelet.
So join the rebellion and be the REVOLT!
