This past Sunday Hishaam and I had the privilege of having lunch at La Belle Bistro & Bakery in Mouille Point. They had invited me for lunch because I had missed the media lunch which took place last week Thursday. Naturally I was thrilled, I love food.
We had quite an eventful weekend and it was lovely to end it off with a great lunch at a restaurant that’s vibe was so calm and relaxing. There was lots of natural light and it just gave me a sense of comfort and great excitement to take some beautiful pictures. The staff was friendly and really accommodating, the space itself is wide and open, there are many tables but you don’t get the sense that you’re on top of another table or that people are in too close of a proximity to you.
The venue is a bit hidden and could be slightly difficult to spot but just look out for Pepénero on the main road, La Belle is right behind it or you can check the location here.
When it came to the food, I was presented with the best looking burger I’ve ever seen. I absolutely love avocado and there was what seemed like an entire avocado on my burger. The food was really well prepared and tasted great; if I had once suggestion it would be that they needed to add a slice of cheese on to the burger. It would then be perfect. La Belle serves skinny fries and that is my favourite type of fries.
Hishaam had the rump and he was extremely impressed with how soft it was, he said it was like butter. I tried it too and I loved the sauce that it was paired with. After a hectic weekend it was exactly what we needed. With regards to prices La Belle is fairly reasonable and the food portions are much more than I can handle, but who complains about too much food? You can check out their full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus here.
Being a bistro and bakery I could not pass up the opportunity to have one of their amazing looking desserts but I had to take it home along with half my burger because I was just that stuffed.
I couldn’t wait to eat my red velvet cupcake so I had a piece of it last night and it was dreamy. I love bistros and bakeries because they serve all my favourite dishes and desserts. La Belle is definitely a place I’ll be returning to and I suggest that you guys check it out too, they have two other restaurants in Camps Bay and Constantia and form part of the Kove Collection. It was an afternoon well spent eating, drinking, talking and reviewing the weekend we had. It was a perfect setting.
Thanks for having us! xo
